Health Canada is proposing an unorthodox way of combatting a food ingredient suspected in some cancers: It wants to let manufacturers put small amounts of a cancer-fighting drug into potato chips and similar foods to curb production of the harmful chemical.

As a partial answer, Health Canada is suggesting removing the requirement for a prescription to administer the enzyme asparaginase, except when it is injected into leukemia patients as a treatment.
That way, food companies could include small amounts of the drug in their products, the department says in a "notice of intent" document published on Saturday.
The health industry, that can't get me a hip replacement in less than 4 months, wants to start adding prescription medication to my food.
Outstanding.
Now now... no need to be cynical.
OK, who am I kidding? It's a terrifying prospect.

A perfect prescription to prevent a North American revolution.
Outlaw all natural medicine and real nutritional supplementation while drugging us all into zombiehood with GMO sourced and overprocessed "food". Adding some good ol' pharmaceuticals to keep us all sick and addlepated is just a bonus.
You do know they'd like to add drugs to the drinking water. That way, NO ONE can escape.
