...And the problem of making it our fault...
A paranoid or depressive person—of whom we have many millions in our midst—does not have to end up screaming religious slogans while butchering his fellow creatures. But a paranoid or depressive person who is in regular touch with a jihadist "spiritual leader" is presented with a ready-made script that offers him paradise in exchange for homicide.

The often incisive Hitchens comes through for us again.
He demolishes the libtard argument that Hasan's religious bent was irrelevant to his murderous rampage.
I submit that Islam both creates paranoid and depressive people through its perverse teachings that require a high degree of cognitive dissonance, AND that it naturally attracts many already slightly (or worse) unhinged people.
I'd like to point out to Hitchens and others who tend to equate all religions with regard to their effects on personal behavior are concerned, that it's extremely rare for a self-described Christian to so go completely off the rails while credibly claiming religion as his justification (Timothy McVeigh not being a credible example to cite in this case; in fact, I cannot cite ANY such instances).
Another difference is that one cannot imagine the Pope or other highly-placed Christian leader praising or exonerating one who committed such a heinous act; to the contrary, it would be roundly and thoroughly condemned.
