Why do parents continue to pay thousands of dollars in University tuition fees?
Students at Queen's University who sprinkle their dialogue with an assortment of "homo" or "retarded" could find out the hard way that not everyone finds their remarks acceptable.
The Kingston university has hired student facilitators to step in when they overhear homophobic slurs, remarks bashing women or racially tinged insults, along with an array of other language that could be deemed offensive.
[..]
Under the new program, six student facilitators live and work within campus residences. Their mission is threefold: to engage students "spontaneously" by talking to them about an issue that has arisen, for instance, on campus or in the media; to hold movie nights, book readings or discussions on a range of social issues; and to step in when conflicts arise.
Is there any more doubt that Universities have become nothing more than institutions for inculcation?
My son is considering a law career but the list of schools where I would dare spend a veritable fortune on his education gets slimmer and slimmer, every day.
More on this from a profoundly insensitive candidate, clearly in need of re-education...
Oh sweet lord. Hand me the explosives.
[..]
On what basis do these “dialogue facilitators” presume they have any business policing the private discussions of others, even during lunch breaks, and steering students towards politically modish terminology and opinions? And however coy the language, that is what’s being attempted. Just pause to consider the monumental arrogance and vanity at work. Bask in its glow.

This initiative is retarded and gay.
That said, so long as there are no punishments implemented by, or at the recommendation of, the 'facilitators', this is merely viewpoint confronting viewpoint. That's fine by me.
Of course, I hope the facilitators are up to being told where they can stick it. They should expect to hear it a LOT.

I know you're an atheist and all (nobody's perfect!), but you may want to consider Ave Maria Law School. It's currently located in Ann Arbor, MI, and will eventually move to Naples, FL.
A good friend of mine graduated from there, and while there was still a tinge of communism, Tom Monahan (the crazy Domino's bazillionaire who owns the school) never let it get out of hand.
Plus, there are buffalo on the lawn. How cool is that??

The Thought Police have been rampant on college campuses for many years now---this is just a more example of it. Higher "education" has become insufferably intolerant of anything deemed unacceptable in the modern liberal tradition.
The Western world, expecially North America, is now being run by the Boomers and their children, the Boomer Echoes. The 1960s radicals who fire-bombed college offices and military recruiting stations (Ayers and Dohrn are good examples) and their spoiled, misguided, and undisciplined offspring are dominating both news and entertainment media, politics, academia, and even (incredibly) many corporations.
These "adults" who refused to grow up are finally getting to do what they wanted---turn the world upside down. I wonder if they'll like the chaos, poverty, and slavery to come?
