The short-sighted tend not to realize that, left to run amok, more often than not a parasite will end up killing its host...
Canadian Auto Workers union president Ken Lewenza yesterday rejected calls for his members to make concessions as part of any taxpayer-funded rescue of Detroit's car manufacturers, saying labour did not create the crisis now threatening General Motors Corp., Ford Motor Co. and Chrysler LLC with collapse.
When even a 5-year-old, chewing on the corner of a Thomas Sowell book, gleans enough about economics to know that over-bloated wages, gold-plated benefits packages and a lazy, discontented workforce will be enough to sound the death knell for any industry -- especially one as poorly managed and prehistoric as the north American auto industry.
And now, after draining every last drop from their employers, they want to move their gaping maws over to the public teat?
What we need is a little Strychnine in that well.

If the employees don't think they're the problem, why aren't they taking over the companies and showing us how it's done?

If there is a bailout and it does not include some consessions from the unions I will start a protest movement myself to have the Goverment disolved. Harper was elected to give handouts to Union scum like the CAW. Better to take the punishment that a failed GM would cause than give handouts to those losers.

Sure lets bail out the auto makers. Then we can do Greyhound then Imperial Oil then the corner store in my neighbor hood. Hell there is no end to the various businesses we can bail out. I am so POed over this crap I have to stop commenting now before I end up breaking my computer.
